Vaccine Queue Calculator for Ireland

Estimate how many days remain before your turn in a vaccine rollout queue, based on how many people are ahead of you, the national daily dosing rate, and the number of doses your course requires.

Quick Facts

Formula
Wait (days) = people ahead / people vaccinated per day
People vaccinated per day = daily dose rate / doses per person - a standard throughput (queueing) calculation.
Assumes
A steady, unchanging vaccination rate
Real rollout speed can change with supply, staffing, and newly eligible groups joining the queue.

About the Vaccine Queue Calculator for Ireland

This calculator estimates how long you may wait for your turn in a vaccine rollout queue using a basic throughput (queueing) model: how many people are ahead of you, divided by how many people the program finishes vaccinating each day. It is an independent planning tool, not a lookup of official HSE appointment data - it will not tell you your actual place in any real national queue, only what a queue of the size and speed you enter would imply.

How the wait time is calculated

The model works in two steps. First, it converts the national daily dose count into people finished per day by dividing by the number of doses your course requires: people vaccinated per day = daily dose rate / doses per person. Second, it divides the people ahead of you by that daily throughput to get the estimated number of days until your turn: estimated wait (days) = people ahead of you / people vaccinated per day. Adding that many days to today's date gives the estimated turn date.

Reading your queue position

The queue position result shows what share of the remaining, still-waiting population is ahead of you: people ahead of you divided by total people still waiting, expressed as a percentage. A lower percentage means fewer people are in front of you relative to the whole remaining queue, independent of how fast the program is running that week.

When to consult official sources

For your actual appointment status, use the HSE's official vaccination information channels or contact your GP or pharmacy directly - this tool cannot access real scheduling systems. Treat the output here as a rough planning estimate built from the numbers you supply, not a guarantee of any specific date.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is my Ireland vaccine queue wait time calculated?
The calculator divides the number of people ahead of you in the queue by the number of people the national program completes each day - the daily dose rate divided by the doses required per person. That gives an estimated number of days until your turn, which is added to today's date to produce an estimated turn date.
What does "doses per person" mean in this calculator?
Some vaccines are a single dose, while others need a two- or three-dose course before someone is considered fully vaccinated. Dividing the national daily dose count by doses per person converts total doses given out into the number of people who finish their course each day, which is the rate that actually clears the queue.
Why might my real wait differ from the estimate?
The model assumes a constant daily vaccination rate and a fixed queue size. In practice, vaccine supply, staffing, holidays, newly eligible groups joining the queue, and missed appointments all change the real pace, so treat the result as a planning estimate rather than a guaranteed appointment date.
