How to use
Enter your distance, choose the unit and mode of transport, add any extra minutes for stops or traffic, and click Calculate to see your results. Click Clear to reset all fields.
How the estimate is calculated
Travel time follows the standard formula Time = Distance ÷ Speed. This calculator converts your distance to kilometers if needed, divides it by a typical average speed for the selected mode of transport, then adds any extra time you enter for stops, traffic, or transfers.
- Walking: ~5 km/h (3.1 mph) average pace
- Cycling: ~15 km/h (9.3 mph) average pace
- Driving: ~50 km/h (31 mph) average, mixing city and highway conditions
- Public transport: ~20 km/h (12.4 mph) average, including stops and waits
These are general planning averages, not guarantees — actual speed varies with terrain, fitness level, traffic conditions, and route. Use the extra time field to account for known delays like transfers or traffic congestion.
